What is Strategic Innovation?

Strategic Innovation is a disciplined approach to stimulate the generation of ideas, new product categories or designs, services or business models that propel a company’s growth and create significant new value for customers, shareholders, the company and communities.

How to instill Innovation?

Often companies look for innovative ideas within their realm of influence and knowledge when, to be truly effective what’s needed is to leave the comfort zone and explore sectors and areas that are beyond the scope of the company. It is necessary to search further afield, within different businesses and sectors. Tapping into networks, which can be your supplier and customer base, can be an efficient way of accomplishing this.
 

General Objectives  
  • Promote strategic innovation in companies, as a way to succeed in the global market;
     
  • Promote the international competitiveness of companies;
     
  • Promote the modernization of public entities and their ability to develop innovative policies;
     
  • Promote networking with other participating companies, with venture capital companies, with local leaders and Portuguese graduate students from the U.S.;
     
  • Promote a connection to a innovative environment recognized around the world - Silicon Valley;
     
  • Promote exports and internationalization of companies.
Specific Objectives
  • Access new knowledge and specialists in innovation, strategy and globalization in order to promote the development of innovative strategies in companies;
     
  • Introduction to best practices and sharing perspectives between Portuguese speaking and US based companies that have managed to innovate and internationalize successfully;
     
  • Understand new business models and identify internationalization and growth opportunities;
     
  • Access to US companies that innovated and internationalized successfully;
     
  • Establish business contacts in the US and with SMB's and companies participating in the program; Live and experience the innovative and entrepreneural spirit of Silicon Valley in person.
